ROBERT JENKINS, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Jenkins is President of Rheumatology Associates and Clinical Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine in the Rheumatic Diseases Division at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. At UTSMC-University Hospitals-St. Paul, he has served as an Internal Medicine Attending Faculty Member, and as Assistant Chief of the Rheumatology Division.

Dr. Jenkins received his medical degree in 1986 from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. During medical school Dr. Jenkins was a pre-doctoral fellow of the NIH sponsored Medical Scientist Training Program, completing a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology in 1984. Dr. Jenkins completed Internship and Residency training at Vanderbilt University Affiliated Hospitals in Nashville, Tennessee, followed by Fellowship training in Rheumatology at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. For excellence in research, Dr. Jenkins was named a Senior Rheumatology Scholar by the American College of Rheumatology. As a faculty member, he won grant support from the Arthritis Foundation and the NIH for his work on rheumatoid arthritis. Dr. Jenkins was Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine in the Rheumatic diseases Division at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center from 1992-1996 where he completed his work in on immunologic processes in rheumatoid arthritis and other rheumatic diseases. This work resulted in a number of publications in leading journals, including the Journal of Clinical Investigation. Dr. Jenkins is Board Certified in Internal Medicine with sub-specialty certification in Rheumatology.

Dr. Jenkins joined Rheumatology Associates in 1996. He has been President of the group since 2002. In that capacity he also serves as Clinical Consultant of the Rheumatology Associates Laboratory as well as Medical Director of the Infusion Center, and Imaging Division. As a Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator at Metroplex Clinical Research Center, Dr. Jenkins has participated in numerous clinical trials that have been instrumental in developing new therapies for arthritis.

Dr. Jenkins now devotes almost all of his time to patient care.
